Don't Rush the Design Process
The intersection of colour, materials, form, light, acoustics and plants all contribute to a pleasing, healing and inviting space, whether it be a residential or corporate environment.

Don't Rush the Design Process
The foundation of successful interior decorating and interior design is understanding how long this process takes - it depends on the individual and if they are a couple making decisions together. For some it's efficient and for others it can take a while. Regardless, I never want this phase to be rushed.
Why? If you've never been through a design selection process, being presented with one or two design palettes can be overwhelming for some: showing various fabrics, tile options, floor plans, furniture styles, and lighting options. It necessitates time to mull over, leave for a few days and return to it with fresh eyes and perhaps with a new mindset to reconsider a fabric, let's say, that you poo-poo'd the first time.
I have had this happen with clients in fact, and after we went through other options at their request, they eventually circled back to the very first fabric I recommended!
The design process will definitely leave you with an expanded perspective on what you like now - and maybe you hadn't considered before, or never thought you liked. If this sounds unlikely and profound, it's true and it is, in my honest opinion.
How we design and decorate our homes, our most intimate sanctuaries, is a reflection of who we are, where we're at in life, puts on display what we value, and provides a showcase to display our personalities.
